Building Homes
One of our biggest ministries is building homes for families. Many families have land but do have enough money to buy materials for a house.
We lay a cement foundation (mixed by hand!!) and then build a small house on it. The families then decorate the house and add to it as they are able.
The only thing more fun then building the house, is building a relationship with the families. They are the primary focus of our discipleship program.
Bible Schools
One of the most fun and rewarding ministries we do is offering vacation Bible schools for the local children. Often groups will bring supplies, or simply think up fun ways of telling Bible stories & involving kids. The smallest things can bring so much joy. Coloring is always a big hit. It is great to spend quality time to sharing God’s love and interacting with the children.
Bible Study
There are many people who are hungry for God’s word where we serve. We focus on providing them the tools to study the Bible for themselves so that they can grow strong spiritually together as a community.
Dispensing Food
Many who live in the area we serve are having trouble getting enough food to feed their families. For most it is a day-to-day struggle. We take out beans and rice to the community to help out where we can. It is a great time to get to know some of the people not currently involved with our other ministries and invite them to join in. It is such a joy to give freely all because of Jesus’ love for us.
Workcamp Info
-Workcamp groups are limited to a size of 15 people. This allows everyone a greater chance to interact with the community & get involved in more ministry opportunities. Is it really worth it to travel to another country only to have to wait in line for the bathroom all day?
-Your group comes in on a Monday & stays through Saturday. We stay in a bunk house with separate men’s & women’s sleeping quarters, 2 bathrooms, & 4 showers.
-The day starts with devotions & a quiet time for everyone to reflect on God’s word & what they have seen. Then it is time for breakfast & off for a hard day’s work.
To sign up for a workcamp, call or email our workcamp coordinator, Sam Trego and she’ll set you up with all the details.
